Memorial arrangements announced for former Ohio Senator Ray Miller Jr.
COLUMBUS — Memorial arrangements have been announced for former Ohio State Senator I. Ray Miller Jr., the longtime Columbus political leader, community advocate and Black media publisher who recently died. A community tribute will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at Second Baptist Church, 186 N. 17th Street in Columbus. The family will receive guests beginning at 5 p.m., with the tribute program beginning at 6 p.m. Miller’s memorial service will be held at the same church on Saturday, Sept. 5. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. The two-day remembrance gives Columbus residents, community leaders and those impacted by Miller’s decades of public service an opportunity to honor his life and legacy. Kin will continue to follow memorial tributes and remembrances of Miller’s impact on Columbus, Ohio politics and Black-owned media.
